Under the federal No Surprises Act, health care providers must give clients who don’t have insurance, or who choose not to use it, an estimate of the expected cost of care.
What this means for you
- You have the right to receive a Good Faith Estimate of the total expected cost of your therapy, in writing, before your first session or on request.
- The estimate is based on the session fee listed on the Fees & insurance page and on how often we expect to meet. Most people meet weekly or every other week; we’ll discuss what makes sense for you and update the estimate if the plan changes.
- If you receive a bill that is at least $400 more than your Good Faith Estimate, you can dispute the bill.
- Keep a copy of your estimate.
How to get yours
Ask at the free consult or email [EMAIL]. The estimate is also included in the intake paperwork you receive before your first session.
