This policy explains what information this website collects, what we do with it, and the choices you have. It applies only to this website. The way we handle your health information as a client is governed by our Notice of Privacy Practices, which you receive when you begin therapy.
The short version. This website does not ask for or store health information. It does not use advertising trackers. The only personal information it can collect is what you choose to send us by email or enter when you sign up for a free guide.
1. Information you give us
- Email and phone. If you email or call us, we receive your name, contact details, and whatever you write or say. Please do not include details about your health, symptoms, or reasons for seeking therapy in an email; email is not a secure channel. A name, a phone number, and a good time to reach you is enough.
- Free guides and newsletter. If you request a guide, we collect your email address and, optionally, your first name, through Kit (kit.com). We use it to send the guide and occasional news about the podcast, workshops, and the practice. Every email includes an unsubscribe link, and you can also ask us to remove you at any time.
2. Information collected automatically
- We use Cloudflare Web Analytics, which counts page views without cookies and without identifying individual visitors. We see totals such as which pages are visited and from which country, not who you are.
- Our hosting provider, Cloudflare, keeps standard server logs (IP address, browser type, time of request) for security and troubleshooting, for a limited period under its own privacy policy.
- This website does not set advertising or social-media tracking cookies and does not use the Meta Pixel, Google Ads tags, or similar tools.
3. Third-party services you may be sent to
Some links on this site take you to services run by other companies, each with its own privacy policy:
- Grow Therapy, for booking and insurance checks in Maine and Florida.
- Psychology Today, our directory listing.
- Buzzsprout, Apple Podcasts, Spotify, Amazon Music, iHeartRadio, and YouTube, where the podcasts and videos are hosted. Players embedded on this site are loaded from those services, which may set their own cookies when you press play.
- Kit, which hosts the guide sign-up forms.
We do not control these services and are not responsible for how they handle your information.
4. How we use and share information
We use the information above only to respond to you, send what you asked for, and understand how the site is used. We do not sell, rent, or trade personal information. We share it only with the service providers named above, as needed to run the site and send email, or when the law requires it.
5. How long we keep it
Emails from prospective clients are kept as long as needed to respond and, if you become a client, as part of your clinical record under our Notice of Privacy Practices. Newsletter subscriptions are kept until you unsubscribe. Analytics totals are kept indefinitely because they do not identify anyone.
6. Your choices and rights
You can unsubscribe from email at any time, ask what information we hold about you, and ask us to correct or delete it, by contacting us at the address below. Residents of Ontario have rights under the Personal Health Information Protection Act (PHIPA) with respect to health information; residents of the United States have rights under HIPAA. Both are described in our Notice of Privacy Practices.
7. Children
This website is intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 13 through this site. Parents and guardians arrange therapy for children and teens directly with us.
8. Security
This site is served over HTTPS. Because email is not encrypted end to end, we ask that you keep health details out of it; clinical communication happens through secure channels once you are a client.
9. Changes
We may update this policy and will post the new effective date at the top of this page.
